Responsibilities
- Model, coach, and care for team members, defining objectives and enabling success.
- Serve as an operations specialist in areas like electrical, mechanical, or controls.
- Oversee inspection of critical environment equipment (HVAC, mechanical systems) for unsafe conditions.
- Monitor system performance using telemetry and control systems, identifying alarms.
- Utilize CMMS to track assets and complete work orders.
- Respond to and lead incident response teams for abnormal conditions.
- Develop and follow emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Gather information and create incident timelines, root-cause analyses, and action items.
- Guide and oversee maintenance and repairs for critical equipment.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for equipment troubleshooting.
- Provide escort to third-party contractors and vendors on-site.
- Ensure supplier/vendor work is started and completed safely.
- Advise colleagues on inspection and supervision issues.
- Ensure and coach team on safety and security requirements (JHAs, toolbox talks).
- Proactively ensure safety and security requirements are met.
- Maintain safe working conditions and escalate unsafe conditions immediately.
- Assess and identify resources and equipment for EH&S objectives.
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, and handoffs.
- Embody Microsoft's culture and values.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND multiple years of mission-critical services work/applied learning experience in environments like data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, or manufacturing.
- Ability to work shifts, including non-standard business hours, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or higher-equivalent education AND several years of mission-critical services experience.
- A year(s) of people management experience.
- A year(s) experience in a specialized area (e.g., mechanical field, electrical field, controls field) or related field.
