As a Critical Environment Technician with Microsoft's CO+I team, you will maintain critical datacenter infrastructure, perform various types of maintenance, and respond to onsite incidents. This fully on-site role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain critical infrastructure in datacenters, including coordinating with vendors and recognizing safe work environments.
  • Perform various types of maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor equipment performance using telemetry and other platforms, and respond to onsite incidents.
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met, including job hazard assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, such as turnover and preventative maintenance (PM) reports.
  • Develop and maintain Methods of Operating Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Digital Methods of Operating Procedures (DMOPs).
  • Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, determining when to escalate to suppliers or more experienced colleagues.
  • Inspect and supervise critical environment-related facility equipment for unsafe or abnormal conditions.
  • Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track assets and complete work orders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years mission critical services work/applied learning experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields) OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
  • Ability to work non-rotational 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, typically domestically.

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or higher-equivalent education AND 5+ years mission-critical services experience.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 7+ years mission critical services experience.
  • Experience in high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields.
