Responsibilities
- Create and maintain 2D flat patterns and 3D product models using AutoCAD and CAD software.
- Design custom and engineered-to-order products to meet unique customer requirements.
- Optimize layouts and nesting to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
- Prepare production-ready CAD files for cutting, sewing, fabrication, and assembly.
- Support prototype development, testing, product improvements, and engineering changes.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain engineering documentation, bills of materials, and design standards.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience creating engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD modeling.
- Exceptional spatial reasoning skills and the ability to visualize 3D products from 2D patterns.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination abilities.
- Manufacturing, fabrication, industrial product, or engineered-to-order experience preferred.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with industrial fabric products, vinyl fabrication, sewing, or metal fabrication.
- Familiarity with automated cutting systems, Lisp programming, or Visual Basic.
