I korthet

Microsoft is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design and build an AI-driven platform for security automation and risk remediation within the Intelligent Conversation and Communications Cloud (IC3) platform. This role involves developing intelligent services to understand security requirements, evaluate service posture, and orchestrate automated fixes at scale, contributing to cloud-scale security and proactive risk mitigation.

Ansvarsområden

Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements.
Drives identification of dependencies and development of design documents.
Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code for performance and maintainability.
Leverages product expertise to drive project and release plans.
Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), monitors systems, and initiates restoration actions.
Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends and technical solutions to improve system availability, reliability, and performance.

Krav

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years technical engineering experience.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (such as C#, Python, Go, or Java) with experience in building distributed systems or cloud services.
Experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, or large-scale cloud systems (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
Demonstrated understanding of secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, and service security fundamentals.
Experience developing or integrating with AI/ML or automation frameworks.
Solid problem-solving and system design skills.
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Growth mindset with a passion for learning new technologies.
Experience as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) or similar operational role.
Experience with hyper scale distributed systems.
Experience with cyber security analysis and threat modeling.
Experience with Agentic programming and LLM.

Typical base pay range across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year.
Specific locations may have different ranges, e.g., San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
