Responsibilities
- Perform manual and clerical duties in Controlled Stores, Receiving, and Shipping areas.
- Check, verify, store, sort, lay out, and pack parts and finished goods.
- Assign storage locations and lay out goods according to tickets and orders.
- Select proper box sizes, stamp, apply labels, and prepare containers for shipment.
- Weigh and count goods, report discrepancies, and notify supervision of issues.
- Use manual or electronic equipment, barcode scanners, and CRT terminals.
- Move material within and between departments, load/unload carriers.
- Inspect material handling equipment and complete inspection reports.
- Comply with quality work instructions and segregate nonconforming material.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Requirements
- High school or trade school diploma or equivalent manufacturing work experience.
- Knowledge of plant safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to use manual or electronic equipment and barcode scanners.
- Ability to use CRT's to key in assigned locations and locate materials.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing cycle checks.
- Experience operating scales, postal meters, and packing equipment.
- Experience preparing statements for postal authorities and filling out forms.
