ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Material Handler for a full-time, onsite position in Berlin, CT. Responsibilities include managing inventory, preparing shipments, and operating handling equipment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience and knowledge of plant safety rules.

Responsibilities

Perform manual and clerical duties in Controlled Stores, Receiving, and Shipping areas.
Check, verify, store, sort, lay out, and pack parts and finished goods.
Assign storage locations and lay out goods according to tickets and orders.
Select proper box sizes, stamp, apply labels, and prepare containers for shipment.
Weigh and count goods, report discrepancies, and notify supervision of issues.
Use manual or electronic equipment, barcode scanners, and CRT terminals.
Move material within and between departments, load/unload carriers.
Inspect material handling equipment and complete inspection reports.
Comply with quality work instructions and segregate nonconforming material.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

High school or trade school diploma or equivalent manufacturing work experience.
Knowledge of plant safety rules and regulations.
Ability to use manual or electronic equipment and barcode scanners.
Ability to use CRT's to key in assigned locations and locate materials.

Desired Qualifications

Experience performing cycle checks.
Experience operating scales, postal meters, and packing equipment.
Experience preparing statements for postal authorities and filling out forms.
