Ameristar Perimeter Security USA is hiring a Mill Operator Trainee for a 2nd shift position in Tulsa, OK, working Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM. The role involves operating and maintaining mill equipment, performing quality checks, and contributing to continuous improvement activities. Previous experience with measuring devices, equipment controllers, and robot programming is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain mill equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Set up equipment controllers for proper operation and parts programming.
  • Perform roll tooling set ups and changeovers.
  • Change press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels.
  • Document downtime through a reporting system for KPI tracking.
  • Communicate with coworkers to ensure continuous flow of mill operations and proper product tagging.
  • React to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Focus on keeping the mill operational.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area (5S).
  • Cross-train team members on parts programming and mill set ups.
  • Perform TPM of process and equipment.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor.
  • Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
  • Minimize scrap.
  • Work with maintenance to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Equivalent.
  • Experience in using special measuring devices, calipers, and tape measure.
  • Ability to navigate and set up equipment controllers for proper operation and parts programming.
  • Roll tooling experience with set ups and change over.
  • Ability to change out press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet negotiated time frames.
  • Good Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification.
  • Experience with Robot programming.
  • Ability to document downtime through a seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking.
  • Good communication skills with coworkers.
  • Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.
  • Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.
  • Safety, quality, and priorities above all.
