Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking an R&D Engineer, XR AI Software and Systems in Bangalore. This role involves developing AI tools for tuning Generative AI and Multi-Modal models for XR and Wearables products, focusing on efficient AI inferencing and deployment. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Python/C++ and experience with Deep Learning frameworks.

Responsibilities

Develop AI tools for tuning GEN AI and Multi Modal models for XR and Wearables product lines.
Develop industry-leading AI software solutions and tools for Wearable and Connected Intelligent Edge use cases.
Focus on efficient AI inferencing through research and development of graph optimization methods, advanced quantization and compression techniques.
Develop leading-edge products and solutions for hybrid AI applications.
Define AI/ML system solutions, optimize AI models (including GenAI/ LLMs/ LVMs/ LMMs), and ensure efficient and scalable deployment on Wearable devices.
Survey competitor toolchains and latest trends in industry and academia.
Develop new and innovative ideas for product or feature areas.

Requirements

Hands-on experience in ML/AI tools development involving Deep Learning frameworks like Pytorch 1.x, 2.x, Executorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, etc.
Strong understanding of model architectures across CV, NLP, LLMs, LVMs and Multi-Modal NWs.
Strong understanding and experience in working on inference graph optimization, Quantization, speculative and self-speculative decoding techniques, pruning and compression techniques etc.
Understanding of performance and accuracy metrics for different class of neural NWs.
Hands-on Experience with Object Orientated Design, design patterns.
Strong python / C++ implementation skills (Skill level > 7/10).
Strong in Data structures & Algorithms (Skill level > 7/10).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Desired Qualifications

Skills in tuning for best accuracy and performance and troubleshooting accuracy and performance issues is a plus.
Hands on knowledge of LLM fine tuning, Quantization aware training is a plus.
Knowledge of machine learning runtimes like ONNX Runtime, Pytorch and TF runtimes is a plus.
Experience with GPUs, machine learning accelerators and related software is a plus.
Knowledge of ML compilers like TVM, GLOW, XLA is a plus.
Hands on use of version control tools like GIT, GITHUB.
