Ameristar Perimeter Security USA is looking for a Mill Operator Trainee in Tulsa, OK. This full-time, on-site role involves operating and maintaining mill equipment, performing quality checks, and contributing to continuous improvement. Prior experience with measuring devices, equipment controllers, and mechanical aptitude is required, along with forklift and overhead crane certification.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain mill equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Set up equipment controllers for proper operation and parts programming.
- Perform roll tooling setups and changeovers.
- Change press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels.
- Document downtime through a reporting system for KPI tracking.
- Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
- Minimize scrap and coordinate with maintenance for issue resolution.
- Participate in cross-training on parts programming and mill setups.
- Execute TPM of process and equipment.
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area (5S).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Experience using special measuring devices, calipers, and tape measure.
- Ability to navigate and set up equipment controllers for proper operation and parts programming.
- Roll Tooling experience with setups and changeovers.
- Ability to change out press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels.
- Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames.
- Good Mechanical Aptitude.
- Forklift and overhead crane certification.
- Experience with Robot programming.
- Ability to document downtime through a seamless reporting system.
- Good communication skills with coworkers.
- Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.
- Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in using special measuring devices, calipers, tape measure.
