Qualcomm is looking for a CPU Performance Modeling Engineer to design and model high-performance, low-power CPUs. This role involves analyzing workloads, simulating design alternatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance CPU performance features from conceptualization to post-silicon verification. Experience with C++, Python, and CPU architecture is required.
Ansvarsområden
- Contribute ideas for advanced CPU performance features and explore them in detail.
- Model CPU performance features and work with the design team in productizing them.
- Work with CPU Performance Architecture and RTL team members to identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Analyze workloads to identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities.
- Perform self-guided performance simulation studies of design alternatives.
- Write and maintain features and sections of the CPU architectural performance model.
- Assess implementation cost for new features with the RTL and design team.
- Collaborate with the performance team to maintain and improve the simulation environment for increased productivity.
Krav
- Proficiency in one or more areas of CPU architecture: fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execute units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, retire, etc.
- Knowledge of OS internals and compiler technology is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of High Performance CPU Architecture or related work experience.
- Experience working in a performance modeling environment.
- Proficient in C and C++ and scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
- Ability to problem solve and prove your own ideas.
- Knowledge and experience with common performance benchmarks and workloads.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- PhD in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- 2+ years of CPU Architecture work experience.
- 2+ years of work experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, etc.).
Önskade kvalifikationer
- MS degree in Computer Architecture with 2+ years of practical experience.
- Strong CPU architecture knowledge and micro-architecture knowledge.
- Master's degree in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of High Performance CPU Architecture or related work experience.
