Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a Branch Manager for their Maun, Botswana location. This role involves managing regional operations to drive profitability, sales growth, and customer relations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mining engineering or business, proficiency in Mandarin and English, and experience in sales and business development.

Responsibilities

Manage and control sales and accounts for customers in the region.
Develop and implement area business plans to grow the business.
Build partnerships with customers at all levels.
Advise customers and provide input into their business plans.
Contribute to sales forecasting and set sales targets.
Monitor and control regional expenditure against budget.
Ensure product sales are within acceptable profit margins and cost efficiencies.
Maintain and improve market share through sales monitoring and customer engagement.
Identify additional sales opportunities and introduce new products.
Develop a marketing strategy for the region, including competitor analysis.
Manage forecasting and stock accuracy to support sales.
Manage logistical efficiencies to ensure timely product delivery.
Maintain existing customer relationships through negotiation and site visits.
Analyze and stay updated on existing and new products for effective utilization.
Identify new clients and advise on solutions based on product requirements.
Develop an information network on competitors' products and performance.
Identify correct stock holding in advance to grow business.
Negotiate pricing structure with customers.
Prepare and monitor the regional budget.
Manage the audit process within the region.
Control and manage the store/warehouse, including stock control and safety compliance.
Produce bi-weekly and monthly reports on the region.
Manage the branch in a financially sound manner with adequate internal controls.
Manage the recruitment of subordinates in accordance with HR policy.
Manage subordinate performance through performance agreements and reviews.
Create learning opportunities for subordinates through coaching and training.
Implement talent management and succession planning frameworks.
Manage sound employee relations in accordance with HR policies.
Comply with the SMRT SHEQ management system and EHS policies.
Create a culture of EHS amongst subordinates.
Comply with SMRT EHS Key Performance Indicators.
Resource administration.
Implement Standard of Work Procedures and application of work standards.
Apply basic business philosophy and business writing skills.
Utilize Sandvik databases.
Create, monitor, and maintain project plans.
Adhere to relevant project management standards and reporting requirements.
Apply project management skills and principles.

Requirements

Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering
Formal qualification in business, mining and/or engineering
Mandarin & English language proficiency
Basic Computer Literacy
A valid driver’s license
High sense of identifying and delivering value.
Goal driven with a track record of achieving results through teamwork and collaboration.
Excellent communication skills.
Business development and sales experience with demonstrated growth results.
Demonstrated ability to identify and successfully execute a plan to achieve a desired outcome.
A high level of initiative, drive, and determination to set targets and achieve goals.
Exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.

Desired Qualifications

Mine Overseer certificate of competence will be advantageous
Knowledge of Sandvik products and/or services and their applications will be an added advantage
