ABB is seeking a Local Business Line Controller to optimize financial performance within an assigned division by partnering with business managers and leading local finance teams. This role involves supporting effective business decisions through financial data analysis, managing business planning and forecasting, ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations (SOX, US GAAP), and guiding team members. The position is on-site in Xiamen, Shanghai, or Beijing, China.
Responsibilities
- Act as a business partner to the relevant business manager and lead local finance teams to optimize financial performance.
- Support effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data.
- Recommend appropriate business solutions.
- Responsible for business planning and rolling forecast, drive and coordinate cross functions to achieve budget/forecast.
- Lead and responsible for annual budget and translating strategy into business plans and establishes measurable targets.
- Determine and implement relative strategies, ensure alignment with global and local division/BL strategies and support to business strategy and implementation, drive the business with profitable growth.
- Ensure high quality and compliance of financial data and business information in line with defined standards & financial closing schedules.
- Enforce group and division specific finance directives and instructions, enforcement of Group Accounting and Reporting Guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), US GAAP and all ABB policies.
- Take the lead in sustaining the alignment with Accounting Policy, Internal Controls and Assurance.
- Share functional best practices and lessons learned across the ABB organization.
- Ensure timely and efficient communication with relevant stakeholders and ensure a sound communication with FAO, identify and resolve the issues for quality and efficiency improvement.
- Ensure that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, experienced and understands his/her role in driving the strategy and providing financial transparency.
- Guide, motivate and develop direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies and support the country and the Global BL to create, cultivate and develop talents and capabilities and review effectiveness.
- Ensure risk management processes are consistently implemented in the company/business.
- Identify and communicate commercial and financial risks and opportunities from business propositions and guiding the team on local and global risk reviews with specific focus on risks/margins/cash flow/T&C’s etc.
- Implement and follow up the LBL project controlling instructions to all stakeholders and ensure projects are executed under global and local guidelines.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting is required.
- 8+ years of business controlling experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated performance and results; in the areas of business, finance, operational controlling and/or accounting.
- Strong financial manager, structured and results oriented leader with strong analytical and operational controlling skills.
- Business oriented mindset to support business development.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills in English, able to communicate with global technicians.
Desired Qualifications
- Risk management, project controlling and Solid SAP knowledge/experience (CO/FI) preferred.
