Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for electronic locking products.
- Develop firmware for microcontroller-based systems using C and RTOS environments.
- Implement and support communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, BLE, and Wi-Fi.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware issues through root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with hardware and engineering teams throughout product development.
- Integrate firmware with sensors, peripherals, and communication modules.
- Support product validation, testing, and verification activities.
- Assist with firmware releases, updates, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical support to production and other internal teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and new product development.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of embedded firmware or software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C programming.
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based products.
- Knowledge of communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
- Experience with wireless technologies such as BLE and Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with RTOS, Git, and development tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Occasional travel up to 10% may be required.
- Available to work occasional additional hours based on business needs.
