Emerson is looking for a skilled Testing Engineer to join their team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The role involves ensuring system conformity with technical specifications through manual testing, visual and technical verification (mechanical & electrical), and system setup. The engineer will provide feedback to project teams and after-sales support.

Responsibilities

  • Review and understand customer technical specifications and standards to ensure system compliance.
  • Draft testing protocols and perform testing in accordance with these protocols.
  • Execute pressure, mechanical, and electrical tests on assigned project systems.
  • Set up and verify functionality of various components according to P&ID, E&I drawing parameters.
  • Verify analyzer test reports, check signals and communication, back up configurations, and configure analyzers.
  • Assist the service department with life cycle activities.
  • Work within project budget and schedule constraints.
  • Verify that all components are rated and labeled in accordance with project documentation.
  • Take ownership of activities from end of manufacturing to shipment, including testing and punch point management.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree (Chemistry, Process Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or similar) required.
  • Two years of previous work experience as a testing engineer or equivalent in service.
  • Sound technical understanding of process engineering and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of applications in petrochemical, refining, LNG industries, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings (P&ID, GAD, E&I Diagrams, BOM’s).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Products.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (5-15% of the time).
  • Driver’s license.
  • English language skills (verbal and written).

Desired Qualifications

  • IOSH/NEBOSH Qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with switchgear, control stations, and junction box configurations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; Oracle experience is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills.
