Amazon is seeking a US Income Tax Analyst I for its Federal compliance and reporting team in India. This role is responsible for the preparation of US federal income tax filings, assisting with planning opportunities, and supporting the tax provision team. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 2 years of experience in federal tax.

Responsibilities

Preparation and review of federal tax returns and audit-ready work papers, including US reporting of foreign transactions.
Preparation and review of tax adjustments for financial accounting for income taxes and maintenance of deferred tax positions.
Drive process improvements and coordinate with the Tax Technology team for streamlining and automation.
Research and analyze tax planning ideas for US income tax reporting and federal elements of worldwide tax provision.
Support IRS income tax audits by preparing responses and appropriate schedules.
Stay updated on tax law and its organizational impact.
Support customers in federal planning, controversy, state and local tax reporting, US outbound, and provision.
Special projects as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
Minimum 2+ years in Federal tax and related fields.
Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level.

Desired Qualifications

Chartered Accountant, CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
Knowledge of state and local and US outbound tax issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Master's degree.
