Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers and technical program managers.
  • Create significant impact on systems, business, and customers by reshaping the e-commerce industry.
  • Deliver high quality software using Agile best practices and the latest technologies.
  • Develop long-term strategy for settlement platforms and translate it into an achievable roadmap.
  • Build and manage teams that design and deliver scalable and extensible distributed systems.
  • Ensure operational excellence and security of systems.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
  • Technical credibility to lead teams of software engineers and technical program managers.
  • Ability to make right design decisions related to product features and technology choices.
  • Deep understanding of overall systems development life cycle including various methodologies (agile, waterfall, iterative).
  • Understand how to scope and justify resources and budget needs to senior leaders and finance partners.
  • Consistent focus on operational excellence and security of systems.
  • Experience with open source technologies, object-oriented design, and agile development methodologies.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
