Emerson is seeking a Senior Executive / Assistant Manager for Costing in Chennai. This on-site, full-time role involves managing inventory operations, fixed asset registers, capital expenditure, and cost reduction initiatives. The ideal candidate has a ICWA/CMA Inter qualification with at least 5 years of experience in costing within a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

Manage inventory operations, including daily reporting, transaction monitoring, variance investigation, and reconciliation.
Prepare inventory forecasts and monthly inventory reports.
Maintain and manage the complete fixed asset register, including recording, tagging, and accounting for acquired assets.
Prepare monthly asset schedules, depreciation, additions, disposals, and process asset disposition requests.
Ensure proper governance and control over capital expenditure by reviewing Capex proposals and preparing ROI analyses.
Monitor Capex spending and CIP balances, review asset capitalization, and maintain monthly Capex reports.
Review and evaluate cost reduction project submissions and support cost savings initiatives.
Prepare monthly cost reduction reports and develop annual cost reduction targets.
Manage item cost setting and product costing activities, including standard cost maintenance and inventory revaluation.
Perform detailed variance and cost analysis for materials, labor, burden, and related expenses.
Lead annual standard cost review and update process.
Lead annual stock take and fixed asset sighting exercises, perform bank reconciliations, and support operational teams.
Manage internal and external audit requirements and conduct ad hoc financial analysis.

Requirements

ICWA / CMA Inter with minimum 5 years of experience in Material Master Cost Update and related Costing in a Manufacturing entity.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in product costing, ideally in an automotive, manufacturing or engineering environment.
Good IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills.
Ideally experienced in the use of spreadsheets, estimating pricing models and cost management tools.
Able to show evidence of adding value and cost optimization.
Knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing/automotive processes and components and ability to evaluate and analyse associated costs.
