Responsibilities

Own a critical engineering pillar end-to-end, leading a 2-pizza engineering team.
Own the architecture, execution, operations, and overall technical health of the area.
Drive architectural evolution and lead the team through modernization and improvements.
Build and develop a high-performing team, including hiring, coaching, and retaining talent.
Develop engineers, raise the technical bar, and foster a culture of ownership and innovation.
Establish and drive mechanisms for operational excellence, including availability, latency, monitoring, and incident management.
Deliver customer impact at global scale by translating business requirements into engineering priorities.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams across Prime Video.
Balance near-term delivery with long-term investment in technical debt and architectural improvements.
Contribute to broader Prime Video commerce architecture and engineering practices.

Requirements

7+ years of engineering experience
3+ years of engineering team management experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Desired Qualifications

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership.
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers.
