Synopsys is seeking a motivated R&D Staff Engineer in Yerevan, Armenia, to develop software and AI-enabled automation tools for engineering teams in chip design and verification. The role involves researching, building, and integrating intelligent automation solutions, designing scalable software architectures, and leading technical projects while mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

Research and build software to boost engineering productivity and efficiency.
Create intelligent automation and AI-enabled tools for practical engineering problems.
Integrate AI agents and engineering assistants into internal tools, processes, and development environments.
Collaborate with various teams to develop scalable solutions.
Design dependable, maintainable, and extensible software architectures.
Lead technical projects from concept to launch and refinement.
Collaborate with and mentor fellow engineers, promoting strong software engineering practices.

Requirements

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience in semiconductor design, VLSI, physical design, layout, physical verification, or EDA processes.
At least 3 years of professional experience in software development, automation, CAD, EDA, or a related engineering field.
Strong programming ability and experience building scalable software applications.
A solid foundation in software architecture, algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design.
Hands-on experience with AI workflows, agent-based systems, or intelligent automation frameworks.
Familiarity with Linux development, version control, and contemporary software engineering practices.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
