As a Data Center Critical Environment Technician Manager at Microsoft, you will lead a team responsible for the operations and maintenance of critical facility equipment in a fully on-site role. Responsibilities

  • Model, coach, and care for your team, defining objectives and enabling success.
  • Oversee operations specialists in electrical, mechanical, controls, and generator systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance using telemetry and control systems, and identify alarms.
  • Manage maintenance and operations using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Respond to and lead onsite incident response teams for abnormal conditions.
  • Develop and follow emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Guide and perform various types of maintenance and repairs, acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Escort third-party contractors and vendors on-site, ensuring safe work practices.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and security requirements, including job hazard assessments (JHAs).
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and handoffs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 3+ years mission critical services work/applied learning experience.
  • Ability to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in English for effective communication.

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 6+ years mission critical services experience OR Associate's Degree/technical trade certification AND 5+ years mission-critical services experience.
  • 1+ year(s) people management experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in a specialized area (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls).

  • Typical base pay range of USD $75,400 - $167,900 per year (US-wide), with a higher range in San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area (USD $105,800 - $185,300).
