Alstom is seeking an Electronic Technician in Atlanta, US, to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, experience with electronic test equipment, and the ability to read technical documentation.

Ansvarsområden

  • Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical assemblies/sub-assemblies and systems.
  • Troubleshoot electronics down to the component level to determine the cause and remedy of any malfunction.
  • Perform required repairs to return the unit/system to an operational state.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to determine the root cause of the issue and recommend corrective action.
  • Set up and test systems, sub-systems, and units to meet specified requirements.
  • Recognize failures and set up problems, isolate problems, and take appropriate action to resolve those problems.
  • Operate oscilloscopes, generators, meters, power supplies, service monitors, and test fixtures, and understand their use and function.
  • Keep Supervisor informed of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect production schedules.
  • May conduct detailed experimental testing.
  • Perform electronic & mechanical assembly.
  • Install components, units, and printed circuit boards following specifications.
  • Make adjustments or repairs according to written specifications.
  • Fabricate parts, cables, and test fixtures.
  • Maintain and write work procedures and related documentation for each task performed.
  • Perform other job duties as required.

Krav

  • Possess problem-solving skills, strong digital skills, analog skills, and the ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner.
  • Familiar with linear and non-linear theory, parallel and series circuits, Ohm's law, and other electronic theory.
  • Possess clear, verbal, and written communication.
  • Must have experience using the following equipment: DVM, oscilloscopes, recorders, hand tools (such as soldering irons, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers).
  • Must be able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • An Associate’s Degree or 4+ years equivalent technical experience and/or military technical training is required.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Troubleshooting skills (to component level is most desirable, but not required).
  • Experience using Digital Volt Meter, Oscilloscope, Reading Schematics, Hand Tools and Small Power Tools.
  • Experience using standard electronic test equipment.
  • Prior education, training & knowledge of basic electronic circuitry and diagnosis.
  • Problem-solving skills along with digital, analog, and mechanical experience.
  • Ability to multitask is desirable.
