Emerson is seeking a Tech Writer in Pune, India, for a hybrid role. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining end-user documentation for technical products using DITA CMS, collaborating with developers, and ensuring content accuracy and adherence to style guides.

Ansvarsområden

  • Attend project conference calls to address specialized topics.
  • Analyze information for policy, procedure, and form documentation.
  • Determine user needs for technical documentation.
  • Develop, write, and support end-user documentation for software and hardware.
  • Write supporting content for new and existing products.
  • Write end-user documentation for a multi-disciplined and multi-cultural audience.
  • Work in DITA CMS for new and existing documentation.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work.
  • Maintain a library of application documentation.
  • Follow Emerson's standard processes for writing style, format, and content.
  • Explore technical products and create audience-focused documents.
  • Drive the review and approval of technical content within the document management system.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 3+ year of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional English writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in writing technical documents.
  • Ability to develop product understanding by working closely with product developers in an Agile development environment.
  • Ability to design and organize document structure.
  • Interest in hands-on installation, configuration and use of the software.
  • Understanding of accepted technical writing style conventions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects and monitor progress with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong research skills.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience with modular documentation (e.g., DITA XML) and DITA component content management systems.
  • Experience working with large Microsoft Word documents and Adobe Suits.
  • Desire to seek continuous improvements and innovation.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated internships in technical writing/information development.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Controls (e.g., DCS or PLCs).
