Synopsys is seeking an experienced Sr. Cybersecurity Corporate Legal Counsel to advise on cyber incidents, negotiate cybersecurity terms in agreements, and support global legal and security initiatives. This role requires strong judgment, collaboration, and practical problem-solving skills at the intersection of technology, regulation, and business risk.

Ansvarsområden

Serve as primary legal advisor during cybersecurity incidents, coordinating with various internal teams.
Assess legal, regulatory, contractual, and business obligations arising from incidents, including notifications.
Advise on investigation and forensic response, including privilege preservation and external vendor engagement.
Provide legal guidance on U.S. and international cybersecurity laws and breach-notification requirements.
Draft, review, and negotiate cybersecurity, information security, privacy, and data-protection provisions in agreements.
Negotiate provisions concerning security controls, encryption, data handling, and incident reporting.
Partner with technical and compliance experts to translate security capabilities into contract language.
Support cybersecurity governance and compliance initiatives.
Provide day-to-day counseling on cybersecurity, data protection, and technology risks.
Collaborate across Legal, Information Security, and other functions to manage risk and enable business progress.

Krav

J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar membership.
Eight to ten years of legal experience, with a substantial focus on cybersecurity matters.
Significant experience advising on cybersecurity incident response, forensic investigations, and breach-notification analysis.
Experience interpreting and applying U.S. and international cybersecurity, data-protection, and incident-response requirements.
Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating cybersecurity, information security, privacy, and data-protection provisions in customer and vendor agreements.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, information security practices, cloud environments, data governance, and security frameworks.
Ability to independently manage complex, time-sensitive legal matters with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Experience advising a global technology company (in-house or private practice) is strongly preferred.
Experience with semiconductor, software, SaaS, cloud, AI, or other technology businesses is a plus.
Ability to work with cybersecurity engineers, forensic investigators, and business leaders.
Calm demeanor and sound judgment during fast-moving incidents with incomplete facts.
Ability to ask precise questions, identify legally significant facts, and document decisions efficiently.
Skill in evaluating and negotiating contractual commitments related to cybersecurity and data protection.
