As a Software Engineer in Microsoft's CoreAI division, you will help build AI agents that transform massive codebases like Windows and Azure. The role involves designing and implementing tools for large-scale migration, language modernization to Rust, and specification-driven development, integrating AI with static analysis, testing, and formal verification to ensure trustworthy code changes.

Ansvarsområden

Design, build, and ship agentic tools and infrastructure for migration at scale, language modernization, or specification-driven development.
Build tool layers for agent context, analysis, and validation, and create evaluation harnesses.
Integrate static analysis, testing, and verification into agent loops for evidence-backed changes.
Collaborate with engineering teams across Microsoft (e.g., Windows, Azure) to deliver production-quality changes.
Instrument and measure quality, including acceptance rate and correctness, iterating based on user feedback.
Contribute to design reviews and mentor other engineers.

Krav

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related areas with 6+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, OR PhD in computer science or related areas.
Experience coding in C, C++, C#, or Rust.
Experience building developer tools using LLM-based agents.
Experience with compilers and program analysis.
Excellent technical design, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, customer obsession, and a passion for shipping high-quality products.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Experience with Rust and C/C++ interop and memory safety.
Experience with testing at scale, such as differential testing, property-based testing, or fuzzing.
Experience with formal methods such as TLA+, model checking, F*, Lean, Verus, Dafny, or similar.
Experience working with very large codebases and build systems.
Interest or experience in human-AI interaction and developer experience design.
Publications or open-source contributions are a plus.
