Saab Inc. is hiring a Senior Network Engineer in East Syracuse, NY to design, build, and support surveillance systems. Responsibilities include network planning and design, developing resilient architectures, and providing customer support. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience.
Ansvarsområden
- Plan and design networks using technologies such as VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, Spanning Tree, LACP/EtherChannel, first-hop redundancy protocols, static and dynamic routing, and network segmentation.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other technical disciplines.
- Develop resilient Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures.
- Provide network device support to customers with troubleshooting, device reconfiguration, and technical refresh.
- Develop high-level knowledge of the products and systems for which the communication network will support.
- Demonstrate familiarity in Software/Operating System Configuration (primarily in a Linux environment), Network Design/Configuration and Troubleshooting.
- Help develop tools and scripts to support various configuration and monitoring activities.
- Utilize working knowledge of network tools such as Wireshark and other network tools and diagnostic techniques.
- Participate in processor and switch selection.
- Participate in planning and organizing work.
- Accurately document all aspects of the networks.
- Utilize technologies such as Python, Ansible, REST APIs, JSON/YAML, Git, or similar automation and configuration-management technologies.
Krav
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline is required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience. Preferably supporting complex enterprise, industrial, transportation, government, or other mission-critical environments.
- Experience with Cisco devices and network communications protocols and Network Security.
- Strong network troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues across Layers 1 through 7 of the OSI model.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- CCNA and above are preferred.
- Experience with design and configuration of wireless equipment is welcome.
- Experience with Fortinet devices is welcome.
- Current DoD clearance is preferred.
- Experience with JIRA is preferred.
- Protect Data in Transit experience preferred
