Volvo Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel IP to join their IP Legal Team in Göteborg, Sweden. This role involves protecting and leveraging intellectual property, advising on complex IP matters, and managing IP risks, including patents, trademarks, and designs. The position requires extensive experience in IP law and a strong business acumen to support innovation and business priorities globally.
Ansvarsområden
- Support R&D and engineering teams on IP matters related to new technologies, product development, electrification, software, and connectivity.
- Assess and manage IP risks, including patent infringement, freedom-to-operate, and potential disputes.
- Provide IP expertise in negotiations and contract drafting for technology collaborations, licensing, joint development, and strategic partnerships.
- Manage and support IP disputes, litigation, and enforcement matters globally.
- Build relationships across the organization to help colleagues understand IP implications.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen Volvo Group's IP processes and capture value from innovation.
- Act as an ambassador for IP and protect the Volvo Group brand through global IP enforcement strategy against counterfeits.
Krav
- Master of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
- 7+ years' experience in IP (in-house and/or private practice), covering advisory, transactional, and contentious matters.
- Established expertise across key IP areas (patents, trademarks, and designs), including enforcement/defense, licensing/strategic agreements, and IP risk management.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to partner with engineering and senior leaders.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Experience leading complex IP disputes or high-stakes negotiations in an international environment is considered a strong merit.
- Strong business acumen.
- Strong digital proficiency and a willingness to embrace new and more efficient ways of working.
- Experience from automotive/industrial technology is a plus.
