Thesis Work in Cybersecurity with Generative AI

I korthet
This thesis project offers two students the opportunity to investigate how generative AI can support the design and adaptive facilitation of IT/OT cybersecurity exercises within Vattenfall's Corporate Security & Resilience function. The work includes developing a conceptual framework, a library of artifacts, a documented workflow, and a limited demonstrator, with an academic scope of 30 credits at MSc level.
Ansvarsområden
- Complete a thesis project close to the business, working alongside experienced specialists.
- Tackle challenges where your ideas and perspectives can make a real difference in the energy transition.
- Investigate how generative AI can support both the design and adaptive facilitation of IT/OT cybersecurity exercises.
- Develop a conceptual framework and workflow specification for AI assisted exercise design.
- Create an academic framework for generative AI assisted scenarios and injection design.
- Build a small library of reviewed example artifacts demonstrating the framework.
- Document a workflow covering source preparation, scenario generation, state tracking, adaptive inject selection, human approval, and debrief support.
- Develop a limited demonstrator or simulation showing how participant decisions can change subsequent injects and scenario outcomes.
- Produce output and summary of experts after review, analyzing risk factors and possible adoption issues.
Krav
- Students about to complete their academic studies.
- Eagerness to apply knowledge in a real-world setting through a thesis project.
- Shared values and identification with Vattenfall's principles: Active, Open, Positive, and Safety.
- Education in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, as the thesis project will be in English.
