HCLTech is seeking a Compute – Windows L1 Engineer with 2-3 years of experience to support Windows server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The role involves monitoring server health, managing incidents and service requests, performing operational tasks, and troubleshooting basic Windows issues. Responsibilities include Active Directory administration, DNS/DHCP support, patching, cloud VM support, and adherence to ITIL processes.

Ansvarsområden

Monitor and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including health checks and basic troubleshooting.
Handle L1 incidents, alerts, and service requests within SLA targets using documented procedures.
Perform basic Active Directory administration, support DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and troubleshoot domain connectivity.
Support Windows OS patching and routine server maintenance, including pre/post-patch validation.
Provide basic operational support for Windows workloads in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
Monitor infrastructure through enterprise tools, respond to alerts, and perform initial analysis.
Monitor backup jobs, perform basic troubleshooting, and assist with restore activities.
Follow ITIL Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management processes.
Maintain operational SOPs, knowledge articles, and document resolutions.
Participate in rotational shifts/on-call support and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Krav

Good understanding of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 administration.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, NTFS permissions, Windows Services, and Event Viewer.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines and/or Amazon EC2 Windows instances.
Basic understanding of VMware vSphere/ESXi and/or Hyper-V.
Experience with Windows server monitoring and infrastructure alert handling.
Understanding of Windows patching, server reboot coordination, and post-patch validation.
Basic knowledge of backup and recovery concepts.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS resolution, ports, firewall connectivity, RDP).
Basic working knowledge of PowerShell for administrative and diagnostic tasks.
Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
Understanding of ITIL Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management processes.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to follow SOPs and structured troubleshooting procedures.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to document incidents and troubleshooting activities clearly.
Ability to work effectively with L2/L3 and cross-functional technical teams.
Good ownership of assigned incidents and service requests.
Comfortable working in a 24x7 infrastructure operations environment, where applicable.
