We are seeking a Research Scientist to develop and deploy machine learning and computer vision models for Amazon's grocery domain, aiming to enhance the customer shopping experience. The role involves data analysis, model design, evaluation, and collaboration with engineering and product teams to create production-ready solutions at scale.

Ansvarsområden

Design, train, and evaluate computer vision and machine learning models for grocery-domain problems like product identification and shelf perception.
Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand domain-specific challenges and inform modeling decisions.
Design and execute evaluation frameworks, defining metrics and diagnosing failure modes.
Build and improve data pipelines and annotation workflows, including active learning.
Communicate technical results and recommendations to stakeholders, linking model behavior to customer experience.
Stay current with state-of-the-art research in computer vision, multimodal learning, and representation learning.
Contribute to a culture of scientific rigor through reproducible experimentation and reviews.

Krav

PhD or Master's degree.
Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems.
Experience analyzing experimental and observational data sets.
3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business application.
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language.
Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Knowledge of R, MATLAB, Python, or similar scripting language.
3+ years of applied research experience.
Knowledge of deep learning, machine learning, and statistics.
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
