Saab, Inc. seeks a Principal Program Manager in East Syracuse, NY, to lead profitable program execution in the Surveillance U.S. division. Responsibilities include strategic business growth, financial management, risk mitigation, and team leadership, with a focus on military or commercial radar systems. Requires extensive experience in program management, negotiation, and a U.S. security clearance.

Ansvarsområden

  • Manage assigned program portfolios for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Establish and control program budgets and schedules to meet milestones.
  • Manage NRE labor, material procurements, and depot capabilities.
  • Coordinate facility requirements and oversee ongoing maintenance and operational support of Saab products.
  • Ensure projects adhere to approved program management processes and identify/manage risks.
  • Drive Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and report program status.
  • Develop and implement business growth strategies within assigned market segments.
  • Create competitive proposals and collaborate across functions for program success.
  • Grow customer and industry partner relationships.
  • Provide leadership to program execution staff and guide junior program managers.
  • Contribute to the development and retention of program management talent.

Krav

  • BA/BS degree and 20+ years of experience, OR MA/MS degree and 18+ years of experience, OR PhD degree and 16+ years of experience.
  • Experience successfully negotiating multi-million-dollar agreements.
  • Advanced knowledge of program management standards and best practices (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, Risk/Opportunity management).
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically up to 15%.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Engineering or program management background with 10+ years of progressive program management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting both defense and commercial products.
  • In-depth knowledge of military or commercial radar systems, markets, and technologies.
