Microsoft is seeking a Data Center Technician (DCT) for fully on-site roles in Lithia Springs, Palmetto, and East Point, GA. This full-time position involves preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and decommissioning IT equipment under guidance. It offers growth opportunities within Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure.

Ansvarsområden

  • Prepare, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, replace, and decommission IT datacenter equipment.
  • Comply with Data Center policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Review Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and understand impacts on work execution.
  • Complete assigned tickets efficiently and in alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Acquire a fundamental understanding of cabling, network, server, and storage equipment.
  • Escort third-party vendors or IT support on-premises.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and comply with Environmental & Health Safety (EHS) procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information and partnering with other teams.

Krav

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States that does not require employer sponsorship.
  • 2+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.

  • Seeks guidance from more experienced technicians on challenging tickets.
  • Learns about post-execution verification of grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
  • May perform tasks in tandem with other technicians to comply with procedures and safety requirements.
