Saab is seeking motivated engineering students for a paid Mechanical Engineer Internship in West Lafayette for Summer 2027. This role involves supporting production processes, contributing to design improvements, and completing a designated project with deliverable expectations, offering hands-on experience in aircraft design and production.

Ansvarsområden

  • Complete a designated internship project, as assigned by the department manager.
  • Lead and coordinate an engineering project with deliverable expectations.
  • Partner with assigned mentor to solicit feedback and direction.
  • Contribute to the production and design of the T-7 trainer by evaluating production non-conformances and developing potential design solutions.
  • Acquire experience in a design organization and gain understanding of aircraft design and production functions.

Krav

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Completed Freshman year or greater at time of hire (fall 2026).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness and excitement to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to be self-driven and deliver a high quality of work.
  • Ability to drive and lead change.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Prior Internship/Co-Op experience is preferred but not required.
