Sandvik Rock Processing is hiring a Legal and Compliance Counsel in Pune, India. This role will lead in-country legal and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to company policies and laws, with a focus on anti-bribery, trade compliance, and commercial agreements. The position requires an Indian law degree and 6-8 years of combined legal and compliance experience in relevant industries.
Ansvarsområden
- Implement Sandvik compliance program in India: anti-bribery/anti-corruption, trade compliance, competition law, and data privacy/digital compliance.
- Deliver risk-based training and lead Speak Up investigations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (NDAs, sales, distributor/agency, sourcing, IT/IP).
- Provide proactive legal risk advice to Sales and Sourcing.
- Manage local litigation, claims, and disputes.
- Support HR with employment law matters.
- Act as the local link for governance, coordinating questions on Delegation of Authority, subsidiary governance, ERM, and internal controls.
Krav
- Indian law degree (LL.B.)/ Bachelor’s in law/business/finance or related field.
- Minimum 6–8 years combined legal and compliance experience in a multinational company in engineering, manufacturing, mining or industrial sectors.
- Proven track record in ABC, trade compliance, third-party due diligence and investigations in India.
- Solid experience independently drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Litigation experience.
- Familiarity with Indian legal/regulatory/enforcement trends and subsidiary governance.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Compliance certification (e.g. CCEP-I, CIPP) is an asset.
- Turns complex requirements into simple, practical business processes; pragmatic, avoids over-compliance yet keeps focus on what matters.
- High personal integrity; handles confidential matters with discretion.
- Strong stakeholder management across cultures; influences without direct authority.
- Decisive and autonomous under uncertainty; resilient in a fast-paced environment; hands-on and practical attitude.
- Strong communication skills adjusted towards different audiences.
- Additional Indian languages an asset.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
