Alfa Laval Inc. seeks an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist for its Greenwood, Indiana facility. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for implementing EHS policies, ensuring compliance with local laws, and fostering a safe working environment. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Ansvarsområden
- Develop, implement, and document EHS guidelines and instructions.
- Lead and participate in risk assessments and facility audits.
- Report EHS data in relevant systems and verify data accuracy.
- Ensure facility compliance with Alfa Laval Group policies and local regulations.
- Organize and lead the facility safety committee meetings.
- Report to management on yearly activities, legislative changes, and EHS meeting outcomes.
- Identify improvement ideas for health, safety, and environmental impact.
- Coordinate and ensure mandatory EHS training completion for employees.
- Ensure the safety of all site visitors and sub-contractor personnel.
- Maintain and improve relevant EHS facility and regulatory plans.
- Collaborate in incident investigations to analyze root causes and implement control measures.
- Monitor and participate in manufacturing process implementations (5S, ALPS, SOP) and drive improvements.
- Manage the facility's hazardous waste program, including regulatory compliance and disposal.
Krav
- Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental role.
- ASP or CSP preferred.
- Process Safety Management experience preferred.
- Experience in safety-related training.
- OSHA certifications preferred.
- Hazardous Waste Management experience preferred.
- Safety program management experience.
- ISO program knowledge and certifications preferred.
- Sustainability management experience preferred.
- Strong planning and project management skills.
- Self-driven and motivated.
- Ability to work independently and with a team without strict oversight.
- Pragmatic approach to driving and leading change.
- Strong networking and influencing skills.
- Extensive computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point Database, Power BI, & Reporting Systems).
