Autoliv is looking for a Development and Application Engineer in Queretaro, Mexico, to lead the development and validation of steering wheel and airbag products. The role involves close collaboration with OEM customers and global engineering teams to ensure product quality and successful program execution.

Ansvarsområden

Lead the design, development, and validation of steering wheel and driver airbag products.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, safety requirements, and Autoliv standards.
Collaborate with OEM customers to balance styling, performance, manufacturability, and cost.
Coordinate with global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders for local program launches.
Drive product and process improvements by evaluating design alternatives and resolving technical issues.
Ensure products achieve Right First Time (1P1P) performance by applying engineering best practices.
Manage technical risks and support program execution from development through launch.

Krav

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience in steering wheel, driver airbag, automotive interior, Class A surface component design, product design, and CAE analysis.
Proficiency in CAD design, GD&T application, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (die casting, RIM, injection molding, stamping, assembly).
Demonstrated technical leadership.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Capability to interpret CAE results to support design decisions.
