Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and validation of steering wheel and driver airbag products.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, safety requirements, and Autoliv standards.
- Collaborate with OEM customers to balance styling, performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Coordinate with global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders for local program launches.
- Drive product and process improvements by evaluating design alternatives and resolving technical issues.
- Ensure products achieve Right First Time (1P1P) performance by applying engineering best practices.
- Manage technical risks and support program execution from development through launch.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in steering wheel, driver airbag, automotive interior, Class A surface component design, product design, and CAE analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD design, GD&T application, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (die casting, RIM, injection molding, stamping, assembly).
- Demonstrated technical leadership.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to interpret CAE results to support design decisions.
