AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer to join their operations team in India. This role involves managing and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and Linux server issues, and ensuring high system reliability. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and experience in computer networking and Linux operating systems.

Ansvarsområden

  • Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently.
  • Act as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for systems and network hardware problems.
  • Deep dive into Linux server issues and XEN service virtualization troubleshooting.
  • Remediate physical layer outages, including systems, network, and power issues.
  • Participate in data center power and cooling events.
  • Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
  • Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
  • Act as the data center point of contact for high severity issues.
  • Perform physical replacement of server and network device parts.
  • Ensure correct rotation of parts and spares.
  • Help define metrics to increase customer uptime.
  • Enforce security best practices at ADSIPL.
  • Interact with third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in and deliver on high-impact small to mid-scale projects.
  • Participate in internal team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates.
  • Share knowledge and help educate less technical staff on best practices.
  • Contribute to the hiring process and candidate interviews.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
