Responsibilities
- Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently.
- Act as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for systems and network hardware problems.
- Deep dive into Linux server issues and XEN service virtualization troubleshooting.
- Remediate physical layer outages, including systems, network, and power issues.
- Participate in data center power and cooling events.
- Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
- Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
- Act as the data center point of contact for high severity issues.
- Perform physical replacement of server and network device parts.
- Ensure correct rotation of parts and spares.
- Help define metrics to increase customer uptime.
- Enforce security best practices at ADSIPL.
- Interact with third-party vendors and contractors.
- Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in and deliver on high-impact small to mid-scale projects.
- Participate in internal team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates.
- Share knowledge and help educate less technical staff on best practices.
- Contribute to the hiring process and candidate interviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of computer networking experience.
- 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
