Qualcomm is looking for a Senior/Staff CPU Performance Architect/Modelling professional in Cork, Ireland, to design and optimize state-of-the-art CPUs. This role involves developing advanced CPU performance features, modeling them, and collaborating with design and RTL teams to productize them, focusing on performance, energy efficiency, and scalability.
Ansvarsområden
- Architect and design state-of-the-art CPUs for performance, energy efficiency, and scalability.
- Contribute ideas for advanced CPU performance features and explore them in detail.
- Model CPU performance features and work with the design team in productizing them.
- Analyze workloads to identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities.
- Perform self-guided performance simulation studies of design alternatives.
- Write and maintain features and sections of the CPU architectural performance model.
- Work with RTL and design teams to assess implementation cost for new features.
- Collaborate with the performance team to maintain and improve the simulation environment.
Krav
- Proficiency in one or more areas of CPU architecture: fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execute units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, retire.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- OR PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Strong CPU architecture and micro-architecture knowledge.
- Experience working in a performance modeling environment.
- Proficient in C and C++.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
- Ability to problem solve and prove your own ideas.
- Knowledge and experience with common performance benchmarks and workloads.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Knowledge of OS internals and compiler technology is a plus.
- MS degree in Computer Architecture with 2+ years of practical experience (falls under Preferred Qualifications, but can be seen as a qualification).
