Atlas Copco seeks a Controls Engineer - Automation Specialist to design, program, commission, and install automated solutions. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with approximately 30% travel. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in PLCs and HMIs, CAD design experience, and the ability to integrate robots.

Ansvarsområden

  • Design, program, commission, and install automated solutions.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineering, project management, and production teams.
  • Program and debug systems during assembly.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning at customer sites.
  • Perform on-site field checks of existing equipment.
  • Understand and apply customer specifications, protocols, and requirements.
  • Monitor and work within project budgets and deadlines.
  • Assist Sales and Proposal Department with new product development.
  • Gain experience commissioning automated cells into customer environments.
  • Learn cobot integration.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics) or equivalent on-the-job experience (5+ years of experience).
  • Electrical & pneumatic CAD design and documentation.
  • Programming of PLCs and HMIs (e.g., Atlas Copco products, Allen Bradley, Siemens).
  • Experience programming and integrating robots into light assembly cells.
  • Test & Debug of projects before shipment.
  • Experience developing PLC logic and HMIs from scratch.
  • Approximately 30% travel required within the US.
  • Experience with multiple controls architectures (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.).
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills.

  • Ability to remotely support field installation technicians.
  • Understanding of machine safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
