Responsibilities
- Design, program, commission, and install automated solutions.
- Work closely with mechanical engineering, project management, and production teams.
- Program and debug systems during assembly.
- Assist with installation and commissioning at customer sites.
- Perform on-site field checks of existing equipment.
- Understand and apply customer specifications, protocols, and requirements.
- Monitor and work within project budgets and deadlines.
- Assist Sales and Proposal Department with new product development.
- Gain experience commissioning automated cells into customer environments.
- Learn cobot integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics) or equivalent on-the-job experience (5+ years of experience).
- Electrical & pneumatic CAD design and documentation.
- Programming of PLCs and HMIs (e.g., Atlas Copco products, Allen Bradley, Siemens).
- Experience programming and integrating robots into light assembly cells.
- Test & Debug of projects before shipment.
- Experience developing PLC logic and HMIs from scratch.
- Approximately 30% travel required within the US.
- Experience with multiple controls architectures (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.).
- Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of threaded fastening/press theory and programming for Atlas Copco control systems.
- Ability to remotely support field installation technicians.
- Understanding of machine safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols and architecture.
