Responsibilities
- Operate cutoff equipment of the tube mill to ensure continuous operation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
- Minimize scrap.
- Collaborate with maintenance on issue resolution.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in using special measuring devices: micrometer, calipers, tape measure.
- Ability to read and interpret set up charts and make roll tooling adjustments.
- Ability to change out cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels.
- Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames of scheduling.
- Ability to document downtime through a seamless reporting system.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to think and react to schedule changes and mill conditions.
- Ability to be a contributing team member for continuous improvement activities.
Desired Qualifications
- Cross-training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups.
- TPM of process and equipment in the area.
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor.
- Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner.
