We are seeking a Technical Manager in Pune, Maharashtra, to lead application maintenance and development using COBOL and JCL. The role involves system optimization, database management with DB2, VSAM, or IMS DB, and production support. This position also assists in bridging legacy systems with modern environments through API integration and data streaming.

Responsibilities

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented COBOL code for batch processing and online transaction processing.
Analyze, debug, and tune existing production code and JCL structures to optimize runtimes and CPU utilization.
Design, modify, and manage data access layers utilizing DB2, VSAM, or IMS DB.
Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot, root-cause, and resolve production failures, job abends, and performance bottlenecks.
Assist in bridging the gap between legacy systems and modern distributed/cloud environments through API integration and data streaming.

Requirements

Proficiency in COBOL for batch and online transaction processing.
Experience with JCL (Job Control Language).
Experience with DB2, VSAM, or IMS DB for database management.
Ability to analyze, debug, and tune production code and JCL.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving production failures and performance bottlenecks.
Familiarity with API integration and data streaming for bridging legacy and modern systems.
