The Sr. Director for Security Strategy & Operations will define and drive the end-to-end security strategy for MCAPS-Core, reporting to the CTO. This role involves leading a team to manage critical security programs, mitigate risks, ensure compliance with Microsoft standards, and oversee annual operating budgets. The position requires strong leadership in defining strategic vision, providing technical oversight, and partnering with executive leaders to implement security policies and practices.

Responsibilities

Define the strategic vision for complex security initiatives, aligning with company objectives and customer value.
Provide technical leadership and oversight for developing governance frameworks, technical plans, and roadmaps.
Establish and disseminate a strategic vision and service model to improve security operations cross-organizationally.
Partner with executive leaders to develop and implement comprehensive security policies and practices without business disruption.
Act as an escalation point for complex obstacles, ensuring business outcomes are met and representing the team in leadership forums.
Determine guidelines for success criteria and performance metrics, facilitating team understanding of KPIs, OKRs, and success measures.
Oversee teams in meeting collective security requirements and providing security capabilities, advising on risk mitigation and threats.
Develop and oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide risk management frameworks.
Oversee teams to identify security threats by gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information about existing or potential threats.
Create predictive models for high-risk scenarios and incorporate AI-powered threat intelligence platforms.
Work closely with individual business units to understand unique challenges and security needs, tailoring solutions.
Ensure work of the team upholds standards of analysis and design, and conveys the impact of security problems, threats, and risks.
Champion high-impact contributions to internal and external communities through publications, white papers, seminars, or conferences.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR equivalent experience.
5+ years people management experience.
8+ years experience in security program OR Experience in Cyber Security, or Experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection.
Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desired Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR equivalent experience.

Benefits

Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year.
Different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
