Azure DevOps is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - CoreAI to join their Core Services team in the United States. This role focuses on scaling Azure DevOps and GitHub scenarios, with a strong emphasis on AI and developer productivity. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and supporting features in C#, leading technical direction, and troubleshooting complex issues.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and support features, experiences, and solutions primarily in C#.
- Lead and provide technical direction for the design and development of features, experiences, and solutions for end-to-end business scenarios.
- Support highly available services used by top companies and millions of developers on a daily basis.
- Troubleshoot complex issues through the entire tech stack including frontend and database layers.
- Participate in on-call rotations with your team. Triage and respond to issues and advocate for opportunities to improve service health.
- Mentor, pair, participate in code reviews, and delegate work to encourage the professional and technical growth of those around you.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience using C#/C/C++/Java/JavaScript
- 1+ year of experience on Azure DevOps
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related fields
- Experience building and operating multi-tenant services at large scale
- Applied knowledge of system design, algorithm and data structures
- Experience designing, building and running large scale and highly available cloud services or distributed systems
- Troubleshooting skills across network, application, caching, queuing, load-balancing storage and distributed services layers
- Passion for high-availability, automation, performance and building highly available distributed systems at scale
- Practice of modern software engineering, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and releasing.
- Knowledge of Azure Cloud, Power Platform, or Dynamics 365
- General database knowledge and experience of working with data at high scale
- Growth mindset to look at each challenge as an opportunity to learn, create clarity, generate energy and deliver success
- Ability to break down complex problems into smaller/incremental steps that can be safely and quickly rolled out to production
- Collaboration skills effectively leveraging async communication while working with globally distributed teams
- Commitment to quality and customer experience
Benefits
- The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
- There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
