Responsibilities
- Design and deliver the next generations of AI infrastructure for training and inference workloads for Azure.
- Define and deliver an end-to-end vertical view with a continuous focus on customer value, quality, performance, and automation.
- Deeply engage in defining, deploying, and sustaining hardware and software Azure infrastructure for AI and other GPU-based workloads.
- Focus on hardware/software interaction, coding, and working with next-gen hardware, and end-to-end systems engineering.
- Contribute to expanding the capacity and range of supported scenarios for Azure's growth.
- Collaborate across Microsoft to enable end-to-end new scenarios for Azure customers.
- Produce extensible and maintainable code, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code.
- Apply metrics to drive code quality and stability, and adhere to coding patterns and best practices.
- Maintain communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem to ensure alignment.
- Drive the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers.
- Monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, and initiate actions to restore services.
- Ensure Azure platform consistency in performance, scalability on demand, and engineering for unparalleled computing demand.
- Help build a test-driven engineering culture to reduce regressions and bugs in production.
- Set a higher bar for infrastructure quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience on Distributed Systems
- 2+ years of experience in AI Infrastructure
