Responsibilities
- Specify board level power design, power management products and voltage regulator selection, development, programming, debug.
- Perform post-silicon board/SoC test validation and power correlation.
- Ensure system-level performance and power metrics are met.
- Work with power, system, board architecture, and other cross-organization colleagues.
- Provide schematic/layout guidance to CAD team and conduct design reviews.
- Drive internal simulation teams for signal and power integrity analysis.
- Program Qualcomm PMIC to orchestrate system power-on and power-off sequence.
- Derive, document, and execute board validation test plans pre/post-silicon.
- Bring up and test PCB utilizing typical test equipment.
- Drive triage of problems at the system-level to determine root cause.
- Analyze test results ensuring sufficient design margins.
- Track industry technology trends and provide technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
Requirements
- Expertise in power electronics (switch mode and linear), power management, high bandwidth/low latency control interfaces, thermal analysis, power distribution networks, firmware coding, Python or similar scripting languages, PCB layout and construction and industry standard interfaces (e.g. DDR, PCIE, USB etc).
- Experience with design and simulation tools such as MATLAB, SIMPLIS, Excel and Mentor Graphics.
- Expertise with multi-phase buck, boost, LDO regulators as well as crystal oscillators, low-noise clocks, precision references; implement differential voltage and current sensing.
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: PhD.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to work with a degree of abstraction and ambiguity.
