ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Production Worker for their Homewood, Alabama facility. This role involves assembly of door systems, keying locks, and performing warehouse duties such as picking, packing, and shipping/receiving. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years of warehouse or manufacturing experience, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and repair door systems, including doors, frames, and hardware.
  • Review work orders, ensure assembly meets specifications, and conduct quality checks.
  • Package finished products for shipment using proper crating and skidding procedures.
  • Cut and install Lite Kits in doors and assemble hardware.
  • Perform grinding, prime, and touch-up painting on doors.
  • Rekey and pin locks, and set up key cutting equipment.
  • Disassemble, assemble, and repair locks using hand tools.
  • Repackage or reassemble door, frame, and hardware products for customer orders.
  • Mark and label products, and pick items from customer order pick lists.
  • Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
  • Record product, packaging, and order information on shipping forms.
  • Unload, inspect, count, and label materials upon receipt.
  • Perform physical inventory counts.
  • Operate propane-powered forklifts and manual pallet jacks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with raw materials and production processes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure is required.
  • Steel tip boots are required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with power tools and basic hand tools.
  • Familiarity with crating and skidding procedures.
  • Experience operating a propane-powered forklift and manual pallet jacks.
