Migration and Transformation Architect, Google Cloud, EMEA

Technology, Data & Digital · IT Infrastructure & Security · Cloud Engineering

In short

Responsibilities

  • Act as the single architectural point of accountability for Google Cloud's largest, most complex multi-workload enterprise migrations (e.g., Oracle, SAP, VMware, Mainframes).
  • Lead the charge by coordinating Customer Engineering Specialists, Sales Specialists, Google Cloud Consulting (GCC), and System Integrators (SIs) to eliminate technical silos for the account team.
  • Provide direct architectural leadership on massive, long-term deals for Tier-1 EMEA enterprises, partnering with Account Teams and C-suites to turn complex legacy estates into executable cloud transformations.
  • Reshape how technology enables business value rather than just moving workloads, by designing target architectures, evaluating Engagement Requests against STRIKE criteria, and building comprehensive TCO/ROI business cases.
  • Work on high-stakes, long-term deals and accelerate under-commit consumption by packaging dormant workloads into executable blueprints, driving adoption for strategic EMEA customers across various industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with enterprise IT architecture, cloud infrastructure, or in a related customer facing technical role.
  • Experience leading data center offloading and enterprise migrations involving VMs, Containers, VMware, Oracle/SAP, or Mainframes.
  • Experience working with C-suite customer stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leveraging AI to accelerate migrations and digital transformations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with generic cloud migration tools (e.g., Migration Center) and specialized tools (e.g., VMware vMotion, Oracle ZDM, Database DMA/DMS, Dual Run).
  • Experience with Core Architecture methodologies such as Migrate for Compute Engine, Cloud Migration Discovery/Planning, and Architecting for Resilience.
  • Broad architectural ecosystem expertise, including security, compliance, governance, networking, data analytics, and TCO/ROI estimations.
  • Proven track record working on AI and large-scale cloud adoptions at major cloud providers.
