Emerson is looking for a skilled Metrology Technician in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measuring equipment. The role involves performing calibrations, maintaining records, supporting measurement activities with CMMs and vision systems, and contributing to continuous improvement. A technical background, at least one year of experience in a metrology or calibration environment, and fluent English are required.

Responsibilities

Perform calibration and verification activities in accordance with approved procedures, work instructions, and established calibration schedules.
Maintain, update, and ensure the accuracy of metrology databases, calibration records, and equipment documentation.
Generate, review, and archive calibration certificates, reports, and related quality records.
Coordinate and monitor external calibration service providers.
Support dimensional measurement and inspection activities using advanced metrology equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and vision measurement systems.
Analyze calibration and measurement results, identify out-of-tolerance conditions, and communicate findings.
Advise equipment owners if equipment with results outside specifications is found.

Requirements

Technical graduate of high school or college or similar (preferably electric, electromechanical)
Minimum 1 years’ experience in a technical, maintenance, calibration, or metrology environment
Experience in interpretation of technical drawings, geometrical dimensions and tolerances
Fluent English language skills; verbal, reading and writing

Desired Qualifications

Good communication and relationship skills
Familiarity with ERP systems; Oracle experience is an advantage
Knowledge of SPC and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage
